And so it begins...

Tonight, my four and a half year old daughter screamed at me, at the top of her little lungs, "I hate you, Mommy, I really, really hate you!"

I knew these days were coming, I just didn't think they would be here so soon. I also know that this was the first time of many. I just didn't know how much it would actually hurt to hear it. Maybe time numbs the feeling.

Yep yep yep, what Kat said.

I can say that eventually you'll ignore it without a second thought. Not the same as time numbing the feeling but I would imagine that an hour later she loved you again. They're fickle, those little ones.

Awww. :-( That's how you know that she really, truly worships you. When they say things like that it just means that they value you and what you think and say so much that when you say or do something that they don't like they spout out that dreaded "I hate you" line. But it's not true. You are so totally loved by your little one and always will be.
